Fire Suppression
Even one case of a GMC motorhome catching fire is too many, and should have every motorhome owner consider investing in an on-board fire suppression system.
The Texas Tux has such a fire suppression system...
Info from the manufacturer indicates the canisters continually monitor ambient
temperature in a compartment using a simple heat sensitive sprinkler head (the
same as the ones used in commercial fire suppression systems).
When heat in the compartment builds to the predetermined release temperature (usually 286F in motor
compartments or 155F for enclosed compartments) the system deployes the
contents of the nitrogen pressurized container into the compartment, effectively
squelching a fire.
