FiTech Fuel Injection System

The original carborator has served our coach well for many decades and could continue to do so into the future. But the new digitally managed fuel delivery systems now available are far more efficient.

Such a system also offers a startup with just a turn of the key (whether hot or cold) without having to touch the accelerator pedal. And when the key is turned off, the engine stops immediately with no run-on. One note however, a proper venting system is essential.

This system was installed as part of the 2018 upgrades done at the GMC Coop in Orlando.

cleaning2

Started by taking some critical parts off the engine in preperation to installing the FiTech.

cleaning

Definately needed cleaning. No one had been inside that engine since USA Racing Engines in Houston did an overhaul on it in 1988.

intake

The manifold is cleaned, magnafluxed and painted. There was a crack in the intake, which reportedly all concave old Toro intakes have by now. Stainless steel block-off plates were installed to stop the exhaust from entering the intake from the heads.

fuel pump

The FiTech fuel pump is in an easily assessable location: outside the rail.

monitor

A handy monitor is included.
